Peebs is the quiet one. Beneath his somber exterior however, rages a volcano of
seething, rolling emotion. He pours this into his one true passion, collecting antique
thimbles. Oh yeah, he also plays Bass in the Mentals. Once a month the rest of the
band prys him kicking and screaming from his collection to play a Joey Show. They
keep him honest by telling him that for every mistake he makes, they will flush one
of his thimbles down the toilet. This usually keeps him on stage and on the straight
and narrow. Till the end of the show. After that he slinks home, muttering under his
breath. "Peebs is one of a kind", says his brother Bongo. And for that we can all be
truly thankful.
Career highlight: finding an untouched, unopened sewing kit in Calexico with
two "Patagonian Blue" thimbles in pristine condition. Oh yeah, and playing in
The Mentals.
